Race Play may be one of the most controversial types of play that exists within our community today. Whenever the topic comes up people are quick to have an opinion, and those opinions are oftentimes strong. Conversations on the topic are often not long, and have the potential to come to a very emotional end. That is why this class exists.
Controversial Kink provides a space where we, as kinksters, can sit down and have a longer, more in-depth conversation about race play.
Some of the points that we cover in this class are
The history of Race and how it has been involved in sexuality
Outside influences that affect how we view race play today
A comprehensive look at what race play is
How race play, and some of its factors can be harmful to marginalized communities
A discussion on if race play has a place in this community
What this class does not cover is a “How-To” on doing this style of play. Controversial Kink is intended to start discussions and provide information on a type of play that does not often have long conversions attached to it. It is the end goal of this class that participants leave with a deeper understanding and an informed opinion about race, and how it is played with in this community.
Pup Locrian (They/Them), formerly Phrygian_Monk, is a California based educator, presenter, and activist. With a passion for making education accessible and available for all kinksters, Locrian has invested their time and knowledge in classes, discussions, and roundtables.
Locrian’s journey began in a small town, before they quickly jumped into the wider scene. Since that point they have had amazing opportunities as a community member and a presenter. As an educator they have taught at venues such as Domcon LA, and Kinkschool. As an activist, they participate in and lead discussions on breaking down racial prejudices and building inclusive communities.
